Grandparent's Day

On September 8, we welcomed our Coyote Trail grandparents to campus for a celebration.

The morning started with a special outdoor assembly.

The Girl and Boy Scout students presented our nation's flag and the audience joined together for the pledge of allegiance and a moment of silence.

The third grade students sang two songs--one in remembrance of 9/11 and one in honor of the grandparents.

As always, the assembly ended with a round of Happy Trails to You.

The grandparents were then able to join their grandkids for a pizza lunch, classroom tours and a visit to the Scholastic book fair.

Our students are so blessed to have wonderful grandparents!

9/11 Rememberance Flag Hanging

Coyote Trail students and families were joined by first responders to hang American flags in remembrance of September 11, 2001. This tradition is a beautiful memorial to those who lost their lives and an important reminder of the unity that our country felt during those uncertain times.

Later in the morning, Dan Johnson, Coyote Trail principal, encouraged parents and grandparents to teach the students about the events of 9/11 and why it is important for us to remember that day.
