October 2016

The Howler

Thank you to all of you who supported the
teacher appreciation luncheon during conferences.
We appreciate the overwhelming response
and it was a huge success.

Great Things are Happening at Coyote Trail!
  • The Great American fundraiser raised over $6600 for PTF and $2200 for student leadership. The kids who raised the most money celebrated with a silly string party. *If you have an unsold book that has not been returned, please return it ASAP!
  • The Bridge Team held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new thereauptic play area. This was a huge undertaking, years in the making and was covered by several news outlets including the Arizona Daily Star and KOLD. The area could not have come together without the help of many people and organizations, including the Marana Rotary Club.

This Month:
  • October 6 and October 7 are early release days. School dismisses at 11 am and there is no lunch.
  • Fall Break is October 10 - October 14. Have a safe and fun break
  • Come see some amazing students at the school Talent Show on October 19 in the cafeteria at 6:30 pm.
  • On October 20, skip making dinner and enjoy the buffet at Golden Corral.
  • Hopefest is a citywide event that provides groceries, clothing, medical, dental, haricuts, hygiene items and helping services to the most needy in Tucson. Coyote Trail is accepting donations of canned food, personal hygiene and gently used clothing through October 21. Thank you for the generous donations of gently used stuffed animals! The event is at Kino Stadium on October 22 from 9 am - 2 pm.
  • Students will start Original Art Works on October 30, and continue to work on them through November 6.
  • Harkins Theatre Fundraiser
  • Halloween is October 31. General guidelines: honor standard dress code expectations, no weapons, no fake blood, nothing
too scary (due to the 4 and 5 year-olds
on campus), be safe, respectful and the school cannot accept any homemade treats.

Ways to Raise Money For Coyote Trail

  • Fry's Card - Click Here to link your Fry's card to Coyote Trail. *Remember, even if you did this last year, you need to renew it again this year. Encourage neighbors, friends and relatives to do the same with their Fry's card. After you sign up, you don't need to do anything else but shop! This is easy money for Coyote Trail.
  • Labels for Education - Turn in labels from Campbell's (soups), Pepperidge Farms (Goldfish, Milanos), Bic (razors), Prego (spaghetti sauce), V8 (juice), Pace (salsa), Emerald (almonds), Dannon (yogurt), Pop Secret (popcorn), Post (cereals), Swanson (frozen dinners) *Remember there are a lot of products that have labels that can be turned into your child's teacher or the front office to make money for Coyote Trail.
  • Box Tops - collect box tops on many common pantry-type foods, Kleenex and frozen foods. *Remember to ask family and friends to collect Box Tops, too, and turn them into the front office or your child's teacher.
  • Raytheon Employees: Raytheon's "Matching Gifts for Education Program" is designed to encourage Raytheon employees to support education with their personal contributions. Coyote Trail is eligible for matching gifts under this program, which means that if you do a tax credit donation to Coyote Trail, Raytheon will match your gift, doubling the amount of your donation up to $10,000! The Matching Gifts for Education program can be found here on the Raytheon network.
